Details

In Larry Cooke’s absence, Brian volunteered to lead the meeting and Lou volunteered to take minutes.

Gerry Alonzo provided the Treasurers Report for June. The pledges and offerings are behind the YTD budget by $2,319. The year to date income is $2,578 behind in total. Disbursements were under YTD by $723. The net total for everything is $1,856 over budget year to date. The general fund is favorable by $1,008. This includes carry-forward balances from previous years.

New Business:

1. 10K run support: It was agreed that the trustees would meet at the church at 6 pm on Friday July 10 to load and transport eight folding tables, five large recycling bins and any other material still in the shed from the church to Radnovich Ranch. It was expected that the tables would be set up in the barn and moved into position on Saturday morning. The trustees would then meet Saturday morning at 11 am to help with cleanup and to load and transport the folding tables and recycling bins back to the church.

2. Propane smell in women’s bathroom: Gerry reported that there have been complaints of a propane smell in the women’s bathroom. Gerry turned off the propane to the heater. If the smell abates we will need to track down the source of the leak.

3. Water Leak: We looked at the small leak at the base of the water tank and determined that the weight of the plumbing exiting the tank was flexing the three-inch fitting at the bottom of the tank. A temporary support was placed under the plumbing – a more permanent solution will need to be implemented. Also, Gerry reported that if the toilet flush handle is operated rapidly, the chain can hang up allowing water to continue to flow. This is probably the cause of the tank draining.

4. Ruben Oso Rio trimmed the weeds on the Wicht’s property. Gene let Roger know beforehand.

5. Irrigation Project: Lou was requested to do a cost comparison of locating the control valves in the pump house versus at the planting areas.

Old Business:

The Trustee’s “TO DO LIST? was reviewed and updated:

Item Status

1. Church Fan Control - Larry Lopp Lou received status from Larry Lopp: “The BCS has the task of the sound system in the hall and has the money. We should be able to get this done this summer. Mike Marle is the BCS chair?.

2. Sound system in Whitaker Hall - Larry Lopp Lou received status from Larry Lopp: “The fan control will require a way to get up to the fan -- not sure how to do that easily -- may take some scaffold assembly in the sanctuary. In any case I would like to have help from the Trustees on this one?. It was noted that Jeremy Cole may have a ladder that can reach the fan.

3. Fans for Whitaker Hall Needs to be done before the Summer Art Camp starts on June 21. It was agreed to install 3 Hunter fans (white blades with remote control) at the 3 locations where the beams cross. Lou and Gerry determined the materials needed for the surface-mounted wire mold used to route the electrical power from the box near the front doors to the fans. Gerry picked up the material and Lou installed it. Gerry ordered the fans. Delivery is expected sometime the week of July5.

8. Harvest Festival wood Wait until the need for concrete forms has been determined.

9. Shed Repair Shed needs attention as it has rotting beams and a leaning wall. Shed is on cinder block now and needs a poured foundation. Estimated cost of materials was put at $3,500. This amount will be added to the non-utility portion of the 2010 Budget request. Mike suggested using some of the excess wood from Harvest Festival for forms for the new foundation.

10. Flower Box Replacement Old box removed by Lou. Brian has cut wood for the new box. The irrigation line needs to be installed under the box first. Angle brackets will be installed on the outside corners, the sides will be bolted to the concrete, and the inside will be lined with plastic.

11. Kitchen Smoke Alarm Lou moved the smoke alarm from the kitchen to the hall at a height that could be reached with the yellow ladder to facilitate battery replacement. The alarm needs a 9-volt battery

12. Fireplace bricks have cracks, upstairs Whitaker. Lou found a high temperature caulk on line available at Ace Hardware and it was agreed that he should order it:

Fireplace Mortar: Used to tuck-point between firebricks and repair broken firebricks. Air-set mortar requiring heat (1200 F) for final cure. When properly dried and fire-cured, becomes brick-hard and brick-strong. Joints should be as narrow as possible, preferably under 1/8". Because this is a high-temperature, ready-mixed product, proper attention to bond widths and heat cure is essential for successful installation. Water soluble until fire-cured, therefore a flue cap is strongly recommended to preclude joint washout

Black, Gray or Buff Color $8

13. Sanctuary Leak There is a water leak at the small, high stained glass window that is more noticeable on windy days. Brian volunteered to contact ServiceMagic.com to get quotes for the repair as they are licensed and bonded but he hasn’t been able to do it yet.

14. Kick plate Lou completed the installation of the kick plates and the door stop.

15. Extending Asphalt by handicap parking It was decided during a previous meeting to pave this area with concrete. Lou measured and determined that 1.5 yards of concrete are required. The irrigation line needs to be installed first.

16. Exterior Lighting Add small CFL dusk to dawn fixture on the west side of Whitaker to light the walkway to the deck

18. Add a shelf in the men's bathroom near the sink Open

Other:

Checked exit signs and fire extinguishers on the way out.
