Mary Ellen read the devotional to start our first meeting of the 09 -- 10 year.

A sympathy card was sent to Linda Barton and a thank you card to Lou McTamaney for installing the Whitaker Hall ceiling fans that the Women's Group helped to fund.

Nancy Jo gave the treasurer's report from Fern. We have $537 left in our treasury.

I will continue as the Chair for the upcoming year. We will select a recording secretary and treasurer at the next meeting

The project assignments are as follows: Linda Heyes will do the Altar Flower Calendar, Dorothy Ellis with Jackie as backup will do Sunshine Cards and Phone Tree. Kitchen Supplies and Potluck Coordinator will be be assigned next time.

Annual Events: We decided to continue with all our annual events (Giving Tree, Christmas Pot Luck, Spaghetti Dinner, Women's Retreat, Easter Coffee Hour, and Wine Tasting) though more planning will be required in the upcoming meetings. Mary Ellen will check in to a retreat leader and possible dates the convent is available, Jackie and Mary Skillicorn will work together as leads on wine tasting.

Activities/Classes: It was suggested that we have an evening out type activity at a local pizza place. Mary Skillicorn will look into that for us. And Nancy Jo will look into the possibility of having a felting class.

A sign-up sheet was passed around for upcoming devotional and food responsibilities.

More planning will continue next month, November 3rd. The meeting will be held at Fern Thompson's house at 10:30AM. Ruth Dawkins will read the devotional and Mary Ellen and Mary Skillicorn will provide food.
