Activities/Classes:
Nancy Jo reported that the felting class would be too expensive to consider this year. Other suggestions for classes were: Book discussion, Field trip, opera/music night, light rail trip to Mountain View for Chinese lunch, and hike. We will discuss this again in January.
Carol and Paula will check into Chinese Restaurants close to the light rail in Mountain View. April 22, 2010 was set as a tentative date for a light rail excursion to a Chinese restaurant.
Jackie will ask Pippa if she would be interested in leading a garden tour.
It was suggested that we have a book discussion. Anne Lamotte’s “Traveling Mercies? was suggested. The group decide that we should each bring a book that we might use for discussion to the January meeting and we will decide then whether to do this.
Volunteer Opportunity -- Jackie suggested that we might do a volunteer project since we seemed to be short on money making opportunities. Ruth said that the greatest need was during the holiday season and Valley Churches United had a need for cookies. Fern said that Second Harvest Food Bank also needed people to help during the holidays. Jackie will get information and send it to everyone. We will need to do make this decision informally after receiving the information since our next meeting is after the holidays.
Fern volunteered to host the next meeting, January 5, 2010, 10:30 AM. Nancy Jo will be taking pictures of the women’s group. It was decided we would all wear Purple. Jackie will do the devotional. Jackie and Linda will bring refreshments.
