Old Business

Anne summarized the work we have done the last year including bread for the world, African library project, migrant worker collections and special collections. Read full annual report on line. Gratitude was expressed by everyone for their many contributions over the year. Good bye to Anne as she leaves the board and hello to Linda.

Anne read thank you letters from Library project. They were very moving and we recommended Anne read one for words for Children.

Jan Parker was asked and accepted the position of Co-Chair the Missions Board.

Nancy Jo offered to take notes this meeting and talked about that job rotating around the board.

New Business:

Book Drive _ Angela

Lots of discussion about book drives in general. There are questions about procedure if not a part of an organized group African Library Project).

Find out what the people want and need and who will receive them.

Questions about: textbooks, weight of books, paperbacks, bibles.

We have had experience getting donated books and we understand

the packing procedure.

Nancy Jo hopes to revise the giving book with our current donations possibly using pictures of the organizations. This will be done after the address book for the Church is printed.

Larry Lopp brought up the people at the Willows who needed help during the rains and the failure of the community to respond. A discussion of possible actions. Yael said she would help facilitate. We came up with “A Caring Connection�?. How can the Mission Board, Skyland Church and the Community be involved? This idea will be brought up to Council.

We need to decide on our Budget for the next year including the UCC allotment.

Next meeting at Linda Hayes at 6:00.

Can carpool at Lopps leaving at 5:45pm.
