Serving Community and Beyond

There’s a famous quote, erroneously attributed to St. Francis of Assisi that says, “preach the Gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words”. We exist as a church to make our community and the world a better place for many. Our Christian faith both informs and guides our actions.

Our largest fundraiser for the year is our Annual Harvest Festival, proceeds from which support the ministries of the church and other organizations.

Each year we help fund education for students in Africa (a book project), Guatemala, India, and Tanzania.

We collect snacks and drinks for children that would not otherwise enjoy them and donate funds via our Giving Tree to the Loma Prieta Schools.

One of our members, Rev. Patricia Wood, leads an organization called Mountain Neighbors Helping Neighbors.

Some of the local organizations we support include: the Mental Health Client Action Network (MHCAN) of Santa Cruz and the Davenport Resource Center.

Our congregation also helps fund special offerings of the United Church of Christ and the Northern California Nevada Conference.
